Our Story

Gamagrass Seed Company was established in 1987 by Dean and Deb Stevens and Bruce Zoeller. We are located on our family farm in extreme Southeast Nebraska. On a visit to Dean's local extension office, the extension educator introduced him to Eastern Gamagrass. Although naturally occurring throughout most of the eastern United States during the 1800's, native stands were nearly eliminated from overgrazing and an increase in row crop agriculture. After learning of its unique qualities, Dean and Bruce first planted a stand of Gamagrass in 1985. Impressed by the amount of forage and high tonnage, Dean and Bruce founded Gamagrass Seed Co. with the goal of reintroducing this native grass. For the last 30 years, Gamagrass Seed Company has provided three varieties of seed to 38 states and 4 countries.  "Quality Products, Excellent Service."
